HELP NEEDED: Saitek Saitek st220 joystick (Windows ME)

Im not sure whats wrong with my joystick.I lost all the information to it such as the driver to a virus crash awhile ago,I've got the correct driver installed and the joystick hooked up to the controller port in the back of my computer but it says the joystick isnt connected.Please if there's anything I can do to fix it let me know,thanks a bunch.
