I found all of mine. On Gateway's site you can click on a link for Support documents after typing in your serial # to veiw the specifications of your notebook. In that list it gives the make/model numbers of the devices in your system and another link to even more detailed info. Then scoure google with this new info to find your drivers. For example I found out the my modem was an SI3080 model and found what I needed from that.

You can download this driver here: http://rapidshare.com/files/76882098/MT6705drivers.zip. It includes the video and ethernet drivers.

Gateway MT6705 Notebooks drivers for Windows Vista to Windows XP downgrade.

Unzip to a temp folder then read the text files. Pay particular attention to the SATA controller driver instructions

I found the correct video driver at the intel.com site. Just pick the one for the 95 express family. I works perfect.

You mentioned INTEL. I have a ACER 5100 LAPTOP with a seagate hard drive and the motherboard manufactured by ACER. I ALSO NEED THE SATA DRIVERS TO INSTALL XP1. Will the INTEL SATA DRIVERS work on most laptops such as mine?

Hello everyone, new in the forum.

I have a Gateway laptop MT6840 and i'm trying to downgrade it to XP, I'm having the same trouble, but i think mine is a bit worse 'cause i'm stuck in the begginning of winxp, I am able to load the Mass Storage Controller which I'm using 82801GBM SATA AHCI CONTROLLER ( ICH7-M), i have downloaded the controller both from gateway and from the link posted above and it reads and finds the file but few screens ahead it asks for the file again and the system doens't read the floppy again!!!! So annoying . PLEEEEEEESE if anyone had that befor help me.

Thanks

I had that same problem a few months ago. I solved the problem by using a different Windows XP install disk. Both install disks were disks I had made from my original install disk but were made with nLite as I was trying to integrate the sata driver onto my install disk. I don't know what the difference in the disks were but using a different install disk cured my problem which was identical to your problem. You might give it a try....
