Do you have the correct driver installed?

If a pc is turned off, how can the modem driver disappear or how do you know that it has disappeared? It would have to disappear at the point of turning the pc off or when it's turned back on. In the off condition, nothing can happen to drivers.

tried every driver I could find, even the original cd that comes with it.
I think it could be the power supply, any suggestions?

Are you connecting it directly to a usb port on the pc and not through a hub?

Has it ever worked properly?

I doubt a usb modem would overload the power supply as they demand very little current.

It could be something in the registry causing the problem. Lots of driver programs do not completely delete all files and registry entries when they are un-installed. So you might use a registry cleaner after un-installing the drivers before re-installing the driver. Also use the properties button in Device Manager to determine what driver files are used for the modem. Then while cleaning, make sure there are none of these same files left over after un-installing.
