Should've read more manuals, "howto's", user's guides and spent some more time gathering information, before trying to play "guru" and install Linux. Linux is not a toy! It's a powerfull system - for those, who know what they want and what they're doing ÷). Debian/Slackware based distros especially. You don't have to be a hacker, to install and use Linux, but you shouldn't also be an ignorant ÷)

You know, it would have been really simple to obtain a bootable CD with Wipe.exe on it.
Boot to the CD
wipe 0

Wait depending on size of hard drive

Install Windows

Not really all that hard.

Ok, you not only don't know how to use Linux, but it seems you also don't know how to use WindozeXP.... here's the most easy solution I can come up with:

You should have a boot floppy, or be able to boot with your WinXP CD (or you're on the ilegal side?? if so: keep using Linux, don't steal other's work!)

1) Insert either the floppy or the CD in the proper drive and reboot your PC
2) Follow the instructions provided by Micro$oft, and when it ask's for the partition where you want to install it (you should be seeing a partition manager of some kind), simply choose the Linux partition you created when installing Ubuntu and delete it, and after that simply choose the free space that this previous operation left.
3) If you created more than one partition when installing Ubunut, you may want to delete all the partitions to be able to use all your hard drive under XP...

To uninstall any OS from linux you have to boot up the system with the supplied WINXP cd (make sure its original, cause some not so legal ones do not have this option) and do the following:

1. Boot up into CD
2. At the first indication asking whether you like to
go into system repair (can't remember the exact word)
press the corrosponding key (think it's 'R') it will bring
you into a CLI and you should see the dos prompt there.
3. type FIXMBR
Do this so your boot record will not reflect the Boot Menu
if not everytime win start up you will see the menu and have
to choose the correct OS u like to boot in
4. press 'y' to acknowledge to fix the Master Boot Records (MBR)
5. Reboot system
6. Boot into CD
7. Install WINXP accordingly.

I still like Ubuntu actually. GNOME is better than KDE for myself ;o)

Their is no need to uninstall ubuntu....when you insert windows XP cp it will give option of formatting C Drive which will remove automatically other operating system install in the computer...
