Exclamation DRIVER NEEDED: Chicony chicony webcam for gateway md2614u (Windows 7 x64) [USB]

Hey, this is my laptop's model : "http://support.gateway.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=2364"

This laptop automatically comes with windows vista 64 bit. When I had windows vista 64 bit, my chicony usb 2.0 webcam worked. When I switched to windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, it stopped working. I tried looking for any drivers, but I couldn't find any.

I would very much appreciate it if anyone could find me a chicony webcam usb 2.0 driver that would work with my model and operating system.

Thanks!

You failed to say if this webcam is a part of the laptop or if you purchased it separately then added it to the laptop. If it came pre-installed into the laptop then you need to check with the laptop maker for driver availability. If it was added to the laptop then you need to visit the Chicony website to see if drivers are available for the OS you want. The only way I can help is this:

With the device plugged into a working USB port and powered on, open Device Manager, find and double-click the camera (it may be listed under "Unknown Devices" if no driver has been installed), click the Details tab, select "hardware id" and give me the hardware id string that begins with "USB\VID", (1st./top line of text only).

Changing the OS on a laptop can be a very tedious and difficult task.
