Default Problem with Canonscan Lide20

I've reformated my pc.

I have previously installed smoothly the drivers and software without problems.

But after a clean install of winxp, it just doesnt install.

I've downloaded lide20lide30n670un676un1240uvst7031a_xpen.exe from canon site.

After opening up the file, it created a SetUPSG.exe file.

I tried opening the file, it would juz extract and there's no prompt for Setup option and immediately the process just got killed off.

Nothing happen and no installation at all or so.

I did everything and still the application stays stubbornly refusing to install.

I even extract the contents from setupsg.exe with winrar and it extracted the drivers and the same setupsg.exe file came out but with a different icon. But when i tried to run it, nothing happens.

Anyone have any solution?

I don't see any mention in your thread about what OS you're using. The driver you mentioned is only good in 32-bit OS's.

Or you might try downloading the driver from a different website. Here's a link to it from the Canon Singapore site:

Be sure to read the instructions for installing that are posted on that page.
