I am out of ideas and this is my last call for help on this.
I've never had a problem connecting either of these Sony Handycams to any computer we have in the house.
DCR - TRV350 & DCR - TRV280
No computer here will detect either of these any longer. All of a sudden. Not sure why.
I have had 4 computers to mix and match the 2 camera's with.
A desk top with Windows XP
A Hp laptop (brand new) with Vista
A new macbook (brand new)
A Del Lap top Windows XP (2004)
NOT ONE computer could detect either camera when they all could before.
I have 3 connection cords I've been mixing and matching as well.
two are 4 prong 4 prong
and one is 4 prong with a USB on the other end
I have always made sure that the battery supply cord is plugged into them and have mixed and matched everything possible. I went and downloaded the driver again from the sony link website for this new model (280)
BUT STILL it acts like nothing is even plugged in.
I noticed when I hit the EASY button on the 280 it told me I couldnt use this option due to the usb cord being plugged in. Well how nice of it to detect from that end?
Does Geek Squad handle this kind of thing or where does one even take stuff in for this kind of problem? I guess I can't even figure out what the problem is considering I have had 4 computers, 3 connecting cords, 2 cameras, 2 charging cords to mix and match.
Yes I always have the setting to PLAY/EDIT not on Camera record. Yes everything is pressed in securely. Yes I've restarted computers.
I've not found a post with this problem and I've searched the internet for a month now.
