Default Can't login admin-purchased used XP Professional

I have a friend who purchased WinXP Professional computer which already has two user accounts set up, along w/ the guest account. I was trying to assist him by deleting those two users, but of course "guest" doesn't have admin access, & we don't know passwords for the 2 old user accts. Can I just go into the bios setup & enable admin password? After, can I just hit ctrl/alt/del instead of picking one of the three accts? The best I could find is a key demo download, & $200 for the full version is a little steep.

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Enabling of adminstrator password in pc bios setup??? What motherboard manufacturer has this option????? I believe that task is done in Windows XP user accounts instead of the pc bios setup.
Sorry, but the scammers are out there ready to take your money... Microsoft designed the os with security features.... not something you or I can control or modify.

Post admin password

resetting the bios will only result in passwords setup in the bios for "power on" security. This will do nothing for the password problem you have. In many cases with winxp the admin user has no password. During the installation process a user name is setup with a password optional. This is not the "administrator" user. Start the pc and press f8 after the POST to bring up the startup menu. Choose Safe Mode. At the login type in the user name administrator, leave the password blank. This will usually get you into the os unless the previous owner was ambitious and wanted to secure the system.
