Default Canon MP460 "Can't access file"

Hi,
I recently purchased a Canon 460 Printer/Scanner/Copier. I uninstalled my priviouse printer, Canon iP1300 and started to load the software making sure the firewall and antivirus was off. But the message came up "the process cannot access the file as it's being used by another process" but didn't name that process. I tried to do this a few times with the same result and even tried loading the driver from Canon with the same result. Giving up I decided to put my iP1300 back but got the same error message.

I did scan with DGT and it showed an unknown printer driver, but I couldn't get any information as it said "this product doesn't support the Device Manager properties dialogue". Could this be the problem? How can I locate/delete it?

Many thanks

Keith

check the list of software installed from the ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS icon in Control Panel and uninstall anything relating to the printer.
