Default Mac: (1) AV files; (2) files archive

Specifically, I seek the Apple file "AV Digitizer Options", which supported Mac Audio-Visual hardware in the early-to-mid 1990s, when there were a number of "AV" models, as well as AV add-ons like video I/O cards and TV and FM tuners from Apple.

More generally, I seek an archive of that and other Apple files. Apple purports to maintain an archive of:
> "Older Software Downloads: Software updates for earlier versions of Mac OS and Apple hardware
> are available by browsing the Downloads Web site
> <http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/>.
> You can look at the Older Software Downloads page
> <http://www.info.apple.com/support/oldersoftwarelist.html>
> for a list of all software released prior to 1998-01-01."

But that claim is, to put it charitably, misleading. A LOT of Apple files are missing from that archive, including these:
av-cache-tuner.hqx
av-digitizer-options.hqx
av-patches.hqx (includes AV Resource Manager Tuner and AV Turbo ROM)
av-serial-enhancement.hqx
av-speedup-10.hqx
save-the-disk-131.hqx
So I called Apple "tech support" (800-275-2273 in the US) and got to speak with a "technician" named Diane who did not even know that archived existed, let alone where to find missing files. [She was unclear about what exactly a file *is*, or how one might download a file. For this I recently renewed our AppleCare subscription?]

There used to be other, more reliable, archives for Apple/Mac software, including:
http://hyperarchive.lcs.mit.edu/HyperArchive/
sumex-aim.stanford.edu/
www.umich.edu/~archive/mac/
but they have failed me in this case. (In fact, sumex apparently no longere exists.) Anyone know of a good archive of ALL Apple/Mac files?

Thanks for any pointers,
John

idea A Place To Find Older Mac Stuff...

Have you tried everymac.com? You can sign up for free membership and search for practically everything Mac related.

Also, try using Fetch or some other FTP Program and go to ftp.apple.com and try searching for those files there. You'll probably have to some searching through cryptic levels of FTP hierarchy, but they should be there.

Good luck.
