Re: Sound Driver Help
You'll need one that matches the hardware... and basically several pieces of info that you omitted from your original request.....
The 1st. thing you'll need is to determine the brand and model number of your computer/motherboard.
The 2nd. thing you'll need is to determine what the actual sound chip brand and number is? And please don't say "Intel 82801" as there is no such sound chip. Sound chips are made by companies like Realtek (alcxxx), Cmedia Inc. (cmixxxx), ADI SoundMAX (adxxxx), VIA (vt-xxxx), and IDT (formerly Sigmatel) (stacxxxx). If you don't know, open the computer and look.
The 3rd. thing needed is the hardware id string. This is available in Device Manager by double-clicking the sound device, click the Details tab, select "hardware id" and give me the hardware id string below that begins with "PCI\VEN" (1st./top line of text only).
The 4th. thing needed is a request in the Sound Driver Request forum.
