Default Netbook has crappy sound

Installed the driver that came with the package, but the sound comes out of the speakers and headset sounds like a 45 with lots of scratches. Any help?

Are you talking about ALL sounds or just Windows sounds? Has it ever worked correctly using that same driver? Did you make any changes in software or hardware that caused this problem to start?
