Question Is your system ready for Vista??????????

I was given these articles below and thought they made interesting reading....something to consider......

Where are my NVIDIA Drivers for Vista?

"NVIDIA not being ready for DX10, Vista, and SLI is a low blow to enthusiasts and gamers that spend the big bucks, and they will remember that for a while

“World-class support” should be a minimum expectation, not just a marketing tag line

Logitech, Creative, NVIDIA driver disgrace

"Guess that Vista upgrade is just going to have to wait -- either that, or I upgrade my hardware to something compatible and vow never to buy Logitech, Creative or NVIDIA ever again!"

That's is why I'm afraid to move to Vista at this time. I know that there will lot of compatibility issues. And I am currently not ready to take that pain.

(1).Why move to vista at all? (2).Will it do more than (say) XP or 2K? (3).Will it make a cup of tea (I'm British) for me? (4).Will it run all my existing programs? (5).Will (or can) it use my existing hardware? (6).Is it going to cost me a lot of hard earned money? (7).Or is it just the latest "must have" (but can't use) offering from MS? If the answer is 'yes' to more than eight of the questions above, then I'd consider it. Otherwise, NO THANKS! I understand that certain computer makers are offering an "XP upgrade" for those who don't want vista (Ref: "Jerry K", 'sticky' -top of this page). hmmmm...

some consider it an upgrade, others call it downgrade. Each to his own.

Changing to a newer os has always been considered an Upgrade until Vista came along.

I remember when folks badmouthed XP the same way when it was introduced.
