I've been handed an NIC thats supposed to be a DFE-520TX (hardware version A2) but the drivers supplied on the CD (that says 520TX) don't work.. i've tried to download drivers from d-link website but those wont work either..
I've tried everything i can from installing dirver before/after inserting card, changing slots to downloadig the drivers from 3 different sources..
Here's the information that I've gathered from the device manager:
Device Instance Id
PCI\VEN_0186&DEV_3106&SUBSYS_0000208A&REV_8B\4172A 2BDD&0&50F0
Hardware Ids
PCI\VEN_0186&DEV_3106&SUBSYS_0000208A&REV_8B
PCI\VEN_0186&DEV_3106&SUBSYS_0000208A
PCI\VEN_0186&DEV_3106&CC_020000
PCI\VEN_0186&DEV_3106&CC_0200
Compatible Ids
PCI\VEN_0186&DEV_3106&REV_8B
PCI\VEN_0186&DEV_3106
PCI\VEN_0186&DEV_3106&CC_020000
PCI\VEN_0186&DEV_3106&CC_0200
PCI\VEN_0186
PCI\CC_020000
PCI\CC_0200
And this is the INF file present in the WinXP folder:
[MANUF]
%VT3106DX.DeviceDesc% = VT3106J.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3106&SUBSYS_14081186
%VT3106F1.DeviceDesc% = VT3106J.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3106&SUBSYS_14071186
%VT3106H.DeviceDesc% = VT3106J.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3106&SUBSYS_14061186
%VT3106S.DeviceDesc% = VT3106S.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3053&SUBSYS_14041186
%VT3106J.DeviceDesc% = VT3106J.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3106&SUBSYS_14031186
%VT3065C.DeviceDesc% = VT3065.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3065&SUBSYS_14021186
%VT3065B.DeviceDesc% = VT3065.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3065&SUBSYS_14011186
%VT3065A.DeviceDesc% = VT3065.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3065&SUBSYS_14001186
%VT3206.DeviceDesc% = VT3106J.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3106&SUBSYS_14051186
%VT3043.DeviceDesc% = VT3043.ndi, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3043&SUBSYS_14001186
So the Vendor ID reported by the card is really not in the INF file. Does this mean I don't have a 520TX? If this is the case, what card is it anyway? Which company has vendor ID 0186?
DFE-520TX is printed on the card.
The followin appears near the DLink brand name on the NIC:
8DFE520TX1A2G
The chip on the NIC says
DL10028A
0821CD
23A3007800
and another smaller chip that says:
FPE
H16105-DFR
Help me out! What drivers do I use???
