Question about Plus and Pro and DriverGuide Toolkit
I am a technician. I've been using Driverguide to search for drivers for some time, but just tried the DriverGuide Toolkit. It looks like it would be worth upgrading my membership to Plus or Pro for, but I have a question about the use of DriverGuide Toolkit with each of these types of memberships.
I regret posting this here, but I couldn't find any 'Contact Us' link or a link to submit sales-related questions and when I try to use the 'Ask DG' link, I get an error that says "Authentication against the AtomAPI endpoint failed. Please check your username/password" - even though I set up and completed a member registration and am logged onto it. (I've already logged off and on a couple of times to try to solve the problem).
At any rate, my question is this: I noted that the Plus membership appears to restrict the use of the DriverGuide Toolkit to one computer (based upon the description). The Pro membership, by contrast, tells you that you can use it on "multiple computers" and/or across a LAN.
I often work in the field, for individuals and businesses. I want to be able to access this tool from field locations on an as-needed basis for the purpose of finding and downloading drivers. In this situation, if I have to install a software utility to solve a problem, I install it, solve the client's problem and remove the software afterward, so I'm not harming the publisher's intellectual property rights. And the client computer doesn't need such a utility on an ongoing basis; I'm just trying to solve an ad-hoc problem and then leave.
How does that work with DriverGuide Toolkit? Can I access the tool from field locations? If I can follow the sort of strategy I've outlined (or a reasonable variant thereof), I would definitely buy the Pro version. But I'd like to know before I decide which paid membership to choose.
