The procedure is to install AVG v8 and then live update it online. I'm not aware of any other method. I guess it would be possible to copy the files from the updated pc, then copy them to the same locations on the 2nd. pc.... but I don't think this would be legal if it's only a single user version. And I doubt it would work as entries in the registry would also have to be duplicated..... quite a task if you don't know how.

And you can download a free working version from AVG's website and it will update just fine.

I am not trying to copy the whole program but ONLY the update virus signatures(update files).

It might be possible but if you asking for a step-by-step, I can't help you. It would be no problem to copy the files from one pc to the other... the only thing is you would have to know which files and where. After that there's only one obstacle left..... those registry entries that almost every program writes to the registry during install. In order to know that information, you'd need some kind of program that would tell you which entries have been made to the registry when AVG is installed. I'm not familiar with any program that does that but I'd bet that one exists...somewhere. It's a time consuming difficult task but can be done if you're familiar with editing the registry. A program like AVG could add several dozens entries to the registry. The more entries there are, the longer it will take to copy those entires to say notepad and save it to any media that both machines can handle.

Why not just take something like a USB stick and write the install files to it, then take it to the pc needing the program installed and just installing it from the usb stick? Or it could be done the same way using a cd-r burner. But of course both machines would require a cd writer/reader installed and working properly.
