Hi,
I'm new to the site, so I'm sorry if this has been posted, but I couldn't figure out if there was a way to search the forums.
I just bought the Netgear Rangemax Wirless PCI Adapter (WPN311) tonight and about three afters installing it I got the dreaded BSOD... got it again 3 minutes later or so when I rebooted. I called Netgear and they suggested I reinstall it all again, but instead of the software that came with the card I should use the original firmware available for download off their site.
I did this, and thus far it appears to be working -- though I only have been using it for about 40 minutes since I installed the older firmware.
I really don't want to encounter the BSOD again at all, so I checked out this site to see about getting a third party driver.
I found this driver:
http://members.driverguide.com/drive...riverid=690898
Which appears to match it so I downloaded it. Does this driver solve the BSOD problem that multiple users are having with the WPN311?
If it does, I have to tell you - how exciting! Do I uninstall the old driver from Netgear before installing this driver?
I'm kind of wondering if this driver is the same one though... (??) I don't know how to tell and I'm really unfamiliar with the site set up. Is this the driver I can get from Netgear or is this a driver someone else has made to solve the stupid BSOD problem this card has? Sorry for the idiocy, but it is almost 3:00 AM and after calling customer support, I'm drained...
Thank you for the information in advance!
