Install program of Microtouch Touchware (5.4) drivers provided with the
monitor does not find a touchscreen on serial port. The touchscreen is not
functional. I have also tried other drivers but a touchscreen cannot be found, tried the same unit on two different computers - nothing.
Using a port sniffer I can see that the install program sends some data
(01 5A 0D 01 5A 0D 01 5A 0D 01 5A 0D 01 5A 0D) to contact the touchscreen but gets no reply. When I use the port sniffer when driver installed with default settings (COM1, 9600), it shows incoming data when I touch the screen. But the mouse is still not moving.
I have replaced the serial cable but it did not bring any good. Also, the
same problem trying to find the touchscreen with a program under DOS (booted to DOS). When I touch the screen, it beeps but there is no way to make the cursor move touching the screen. A touchscreen troubleshooting program under DOS also shows incoming data.
Is it a hardware error or should I keep trying different software options?
Any other drivers? Or is there a way to reset the controller on the touchscreen?
The problem occured when the touchscreen was not used for about three
months and then reconnected to a PC with a clean install of Windows. The
computer is Asus Terminator 2 with 2,6 GHz P4. Other hardware - Radeon
9250 video card with TV out, Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard, Chronos
video capture card.
As I have spent a few days already trying to solve the problem, please help.
