Asking for Audio Advice

Would anyone here happen to know why the recording bar can't be adjusted?

I am using "RealTek's HD Audio" drivers, the mixer device being rear input.




Also, stereo mixer never captures my microphone's audio. However, the actual playback, from programs like Winamp and such, sounds crystal clear. Any way to 'merge' these? I've been able to do so with microphone enabled, but the music and stuff are too quiet. I've been using Procaster to record, though it doesn't detect my rear output device- just rear input, default input, and speakers' audio devices. Could I open up more sound sources for availability? Or perhaps set rear output as default somehow? Thanks in advance.

Are you using drivers from your motherboard or pc makers website or are you using generic Realtek drivers from the Realtek website?

You should be using the drivers from your motherboard or pc makers website.

It sounds like you're using generic drives and that's what happens sometimes when you don't use the recommended drivers from the mb or pc makers website.

You might try re-installing all sound related driver(s) and see if that will help. Or try drivers from a different source.
