Your statement contradicts itself. If you tried a later version then you didn't download the latest driver as you stated in the first part of your statement.
There's no 2 different drivers available from the manufacturer. Highpoint (the manufacturer of this device) only has one version v2.4.6 available for Windows XP.
The single zip file (ie:
RR152x-win-2.4.6-1111.zip) available from
Highpoint includes:
BIOS version: v2.37s and
Driver version: v2.4.6 (when unzipped). Those 2 files are not both drivers.... one is a
BIOS firmware update (for the card) and the other is a
DRIVER that will enable the card to be used in Windows XP once installed.
If you wish to update the bios firmware, then you must do so, then install the driver (in that order). And I'm assuming you know the difference between bios/firmware files and driver files and how to install both...... If you don't then I suggest you download and read the "BIOS User Manual". Installing the driver should be simple... normally you launch a setup.exe or install.exe file and follow the on-screen prompts. If no EXE file is present then you must have one or more INF files that are installed using "Add New Hardware" and "Have Disk".
I doubt very seriously if
Highpoint posts non-working files. Why would they?, ie: everything to loose and absolutely nothing to gain by doing so.
I cannot tell you what you're doing wrong because you didn't say what you did or how you done it or what you used and the steps used and at what point did it fail? If you expect help, you must provide details, not "it don't work" or "it won't install" phrases.
