Sony PCV-RZ322 - No sound

hi i recently reformatted my sony vaio pcv-rz322 desktop and didnt have the original driver cd . I have managed to install most drivers accept i still have no sound and have been researching for 3 days still nothing.
I have tried installing realtek and soundmax but still no sound. I dont know which driver my computer needs and more importantly why i cant find the right one

in my other devices in device manager there is a multimedia controller that isnt installed.

You can't find the correct drivers because you've been looking in all the wrong places. Sony built your machine, Sony has the drivers for your machine.

Preinstalled Drivers and Utilities for audio on the Sony PCV-RZ322 desktop.

Note: These are the drivers installed when the machine left the factory.

Resolved Issue:

The audio Recording Control settings may change after the computer restart.

Download Instructions:

Download the file ACD_smx_51213622.exe, and save it to a download directory. (Please note this directory for reference.)
Go to the download directory, and double-click ACD_smx_51213622.exe - WinZip Self-Extractor program starts.
Click Unzip - The file will be extracted to C:\audio_driver.
Click Close to exit WinZip Self-Extractor program.
Installation Instructions

Log on using an account with administrative rights and exit all running applications.
Open Device Manager (Click Start- right-Click My Computer, click Properties, Hardware Tab, Device Manager button).
In Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers.
Right-click SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio, and then click Update Driver - The Hardware Update Wizard starts.
Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) and click Next.
Select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install.
Click Next.
Click Have Disk.
Browse to C:\audio_driver.
Click Open, and then click OK.
Click Next, Wait while the Wizard installs the software.
Click Finish.
Exit Device Manager and restart the computer to complete the installation.

i have all these files already and have the soudmax driver installed but still no sound.

when looking at my audio controllers i do not have soundmax available to updat on driver. However i am able to install soundmax drivers but still no sound.

When looking at my audio devices it says legacy audio drivers which cannot be uninstalled . also under other devices there is a multimedia controller which has an (!) next to it. please help. thanks
