Okay, I have an older model DOS box that I use to run some of my older programs because Windows XP doesn't work.
It runs Windows 95 and has a Pentium 166. The computer I am typing this from is not the DOS box, because the DOS box has no internet access.
I have an ENSONIQ AudioPCI Legacy Device installed. It says it can emulate a Soundblaster at Port 220 IRQ 7.
This computer originally did not belong to me. I do not own a business or anything, it is a home computer. I don't know if the person who gave it to me still has the software for it.
None of my programs can find the Soundblaster. At first, they might say it was detected, but when I try to set it up, it says it cannot find it.
According to the device manager, everything is running fine with the Legacy Device.
Why are my programs unable to detect a soundblaster card? What can I do to fix this problem so that my new speakers are not rendered useless? It's really like to hear my programs, so I'd appreciate advice or help.
Thanks.
