I upgraded my machine from Win 98 to 2000. I can't get my dvd player to work..It will read cd-roms but not dvd's. Under win 98 i had mpact mediaware. I tried to install it from my system cd and it won't work. Where do I begin to get the player working again. Thanks for any help.

DVD decoding software written for Windows 98 will not usually work in the newer Windows 2000 os. Update the dvd decoding software or obtain newer software that's compatible with Windows 2000.

You tell me what software you need updating and I can tell you where.

Trial versions are available for free downloading. However, trial versions are limited in play time per title and total time they will run before expiring. Both can be upgraded online (for a fee of course) to full versions that do not have limitations.
