I have a Biostar MB (M7SUA) with integrated sound (VIA1612A) running the AC'97 2.2 CODEC. I've tried installing the drivers for this thing so many times that I've lost count. Also I have NO preferred device under 'Audio' tab in 'Multimedia' if that helps. I'm running Win98SE. Help! Happy Holidays!

have you tried upgrading your bios. i know for a fact that VIA has an existing upgradde for its bios. try to find one here and then reinstall your driver with a new version of ac97, I think crystal audio might do the trick.
