Hi,
I downloaded maxtor maxboost yesterday. A few months ago, I bought a maxtor diamondmax plus 9 120gb 8mb cache. However, maxboost doesn't recognise my maxtor hard disk drive. How is this possible? Windows xp detects a maxtor hd, it's even mentioned in the device manager. Do I need an additional drive and where can I get it? Does anyone know a sollution or has the same problem? Thank you for your help. I would like to get it running :-).
Here is the url of maxboost: http://www.maxtor.com/en/support/downloads/maxboost/index.cfm

If Windows detects the drive, then what is the problem?

The problem is that maxboost doesn't detect the drive.:(

Maxboost is not necessarily a requirement unless your pc bios fails to provide support for this drive. If the drive is detected and properly recognized by the os and pc bios, then why are you using Maxboost? If your drive doesn't support the drive or it's full capacity, then I can see the reason for using drive prep software. I suggest you consult with maxboost makers for trouble shooting help.
