My computer at work will not delete anything off the hard drive anymore...also messages from 10-16 - 10-27 will not delete. They visually look like they are gonr and when you restart they are there again! Same thing with programs and folders I delete! they look like they are gone and then on restart there they are again!
Also, my computer will not update Windows98 when I go to the Microsoft site...download will never start!
Is this a virus maybe?????
Would appreciate any help you have to offer!

Empty your Cache.
Go to Control panel, Internet properties,
delete files and delete cookies.(be warned that deleting the cookies there will void any password info that sites may use in which case you'll need a special cleaner program that saves those particular cookies.)
Then goto tab Content, choose Autocomplete,
on the autocomplete screen in IE choose Clear forms.
That should help out.

Robin -
I need more information in order to help you.
1. Do you empty your recycle bin after deleting these files ?
2. How much room do you have on your hard drive ?
3. Run msconfig from the start menu and let us know if you are running a selective or diagnostic boot. If the normal box is not checked then perhaps you have disabled a primary function that may inadvertantly cause this.
4. You may have a virus. Search the virus definitions at a virus scan site and see if your symptom matches with a virus definition.
5. If you are on an office network ... your administrator may restrict your ability to change networked files that may appear local to you.

Thats it for now. Good luck.
