Window 98 SE on a P-III processor with USB 2.0 port is unable to install a 40 GB USB disk drive (USB mass storage device) properly. It gives error message "NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver". The device however works well on windows XP........any tips please

NT in your request is not a windows 98 file. It will work with win2000 and winNT as well as XP. Try to install the win98 files from your install disk. Sam

I had the exact same problem trying to install a web cam (USB) and got the same "NTKERN.VXD" error message. Reinstalled Win 98 SE and problem solved.
