I have a CDRom that I need to work in DOS so I can install Windows 98 (I have only DOS in this machine, no windows of any kind at all).

How to I "transfer" or setup this CD's driver program to work so when I put in the CD it will start to run the installation program for WIN98.

Model Pioneer DR-744

Much thanks and regards,

Monarch

You need a Windows start up floppy, insert floppy in drive, reboot the computer, the floppy will create a virtual drive, load CD finding software, run mscdex, which will install the CD rom in Dos.

Once the floppy is finished make a note of which drive it selected for the CD rom.

It should have left you at A:\

Place your Win98 CD into cd,

type: d:
(or whichever letter it choose)

then at the prompt

type: setup

and Win98 will install, follow onscreen instructions from there.
