I recently had to re-install Windows XP on my computer. After downloading the drivers for my machine, I have had video problems. I have attempted to update the video card driver from , Nvidia site, Windows site, and MSI site (distributor), with the last site being the only driver that allows me to set a screen refresh rate of 75 hertz. However, I am having program shutdown errors with XP (internet explorer + Neverwinter nights (graphics driven game). The newest Nvidia driver does not work.
Can anybody help me?
Has anybody else had this problem?

You are not looking in the correct place..
Also dont use the supplied driver on Cdrom..
Go to NVidia - download the WHQL drivers.. I would suggest Version
5672.. It is WHQL Certified.. I have been using it for some time now
with my Geforce3 64mb..
As far as refresh rates.. Go to Display - Adapter - "list all modes"...
And also Monitor - Screen refresh rate....
The Adapter video card has to be set correctly 1st..
My 19" monitor is set at 60hz...in both area's.. All monitors are different..
60hz is pretty well generic..
All Nvidia drivers are the same thru all models, thru the Unified driver - UDA...
If you stay with the WHQL..you should have no problem.. Unless you have other system conflicts...Internet explorer and your video are 2 different entities..Sounds like you have a corrupted install...
Otherwise it depends on your system..
Refer to the post I made to Cam247 - http://forums.driverguide.com/showthread.php?p=7406#post7406
Good luck

You need the archived section..
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_archive.html
the latest and greatest may not be the best in all situations..

Are you sure you updated "ALL" your drivers including the motherboards chipset drivers.

I have the game Counter Strike and i heard when you turn off vsync its better for computer games. But when i go into my Video Card options i cant find anywhere to diable it, then its not even letting me into the additional settings to see if its in there to. I have a GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X. Do i have to update it and if so can you tell me where and what.
Thanks
