I went through this 2 years ago and can't remember the fix. Win98 says "No mouse found". Serial mouse is fine. I've tried several different ones. No resource conflicts. Just not detected! Com ports look OK. This board has no PS/2 available, so don't ask.

Start Windows in save mode, go to control panel, go to system, in device manager goto to mouse. remove all mousees. restart your system, the mouse should now be found and reinstalled. if you got a specific mouse driver for your mouse, install this after you have your mouse back.

Hi!
Sorry, my english is not very good (i´m cuban).
The problem could be solved removing any mouse device in the Device Manager tab. But exist a rare problem that many users faced: the serial connector is different. I refer to the external connector for the mouse. There are two combinations of soldering points for each wire that goes from the connector in motherboard to the external bracket in the computer case. If you are using the wrong cable (9 wire) then, althought the mouse is Ok and the port is good, the system will not detect the mouse. Check Hwbook (www.hwbook.net).
The other source of problem could be that the onboard I/O controller is damaged. In this case, you can try an third-party adapter and use the serial connector on it.
Luck.
