Hi there.

Got a bit of dumb-*** question about the manual installation of a modem driver. Afraid I'm used to auto-installers, so I'm at a loss as to where I should place the *.INF files that I've downloaded for the RockwellFM-56-VT modem for use with XP Home. If any one can describe the procedure, I'd really appreciate the help.

Cheers,
Matthew.

It doesn't matter where you put the inf files. But it's important to remember where you put them when you start to install them. Control Panel > Add New Hardware > Modems > when asked, click Have Disk > point to the folder where you put the files. The installation program will put the inf files and any other needed files in the correct folders without user intervention.

Ta Jerry. Appears to have auto-detected the the files. Put them in a dedicated folder. Then did the Control Panel > Add New Hardware > Modems as you suggested. Didn't need to point it to the folder. All good. Modem works fine. Thanks again.

Cheers,
Matthew.
