The problem that i have is every so often the computer will crash when playing mp3s or playing movies in quicktime and windows media player, this dos'nt happen all the time but it can be quite irritating. i have a feeling that it might be a hardwhere problem with the sound card i have checked computer resources and have found no conflicts with any of my devices and have updated most of them.any help would be welcome

yeah that's caused either by a serious error in windows. u might want to try reformatting.

Hmm, i had the same problem a few days ago when i installed my new 1gb flash drive in it. everytime i tried to select something using my computer the computer will restart. so i just did a reformat and now it works, if the problem is with the sound card try taking the sound card out and replacing it with another. see if the problem still happens also i found out that while my pc will restart using my computer i found that using run from start worked fine and i was able to use it as my computer also try using some other player to play the music.

goodgy:
Does your motherboard has some integrated sound system? Try taking out your sound card and use the ones on the motherboard, remember to install the drivers prior to playing any sound files. Also, do check your processor clock, make sure that it isn't under or overclocked. Maybe you could also try installing SP2, if you havn't done so.

Good Luck!
