Can anyone help with this problem,

I have a HSP56 MR internal modem that, as far as I can see has the correct drivers installed. I am running WinXP which has no trouble detecting the modem and even connecting but if I should loose the connection or hang up and try to connect later the dial up dialog box try's to connect but cannot detect modem. The only way I can go back on line is to either restart the PC or uninstall/reinstall the modem.

Also I have noticed that the modem is using IRQ 22 !!

Which is a real concern cos as far as I am lead to believe it only goes up to IRQ 15.

Anyone help with this problem as it's got me stumped.

had a similiar problem some time back. turned out to be a bad modem.
repaired it by changing out the mylar capacitor at the front of the modem. also check circuit around phone line in connection for bad resistor values.
