Hi

Windows XP automatically detects a Comunications simple controller PCI as new hardware, but when i try to install it, it says that it cannot find the proper drivers. It does not recognize my modem as well, althought i have the proper drivers. When i try to install it and the compueter asks me to what port i want to connect it, it does not show any COM port. What can i do about it?. How i make my pc recognize pci comunications port?.

PCI Simple Communications controller is most likely your PCI MODEM. However, it could be a pci I/O controller. You have not identified your hardware so it's difficult to guess... I suggest you read our Modem Help Guide at the link below:

http://www.driverguide.com/guide2/modem-help.htm

Then attempt to figure out what modem you have. Once you determine that information, then post your request in the DRIVER REQUEST FORUM, Modem Section, and some one can help you.

Note: before attempting to id modem. it is necessary to engage brain first, then eyeballs next..... removal of computer screws and cover will be needed also.
