I bought an OEM pioneer DVDRW+ CDRW drive and it shows as working in WInXp, plays CDs and DVDs, but no burning software can see it. Pioneer's CHKRW cannot see it. I really am at my wits end, ready to toss this not so cheap paperweight out the window. Does anyone have suggestions beyond the obvious? Yes I have emailed Pioneer, but no reply as yet. It is designated in control panel as Pioneer DVDRW DVR-106RD, and that is what was on the box etc.

Most ALL recording software companies have drive compatibility lists posted on their websites. Please take the time to READ them and obtain recording software that IS compatible with your drive AND OS. :hdspin:
