Hi, I need some help.
I recently installed windows 2000 on my PC
which had been rinning Win 98.
I also installed a hauppage PCTV card which is working
fine.
My problem is that since installing the above, my USB ports
are not working, there appears to be some conflict.

In device manager, under USB controllers there is a device
ALi PCI to USB open host Controller, this has a yellow
circle with an exclamation mark after it.

When I click on the properties, the device status reads
"the device could not start(code10)".

Acer is the manufacturer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the
device, I've gotten new drivers for the device fro both ACER website
and from ALi but it still doesn't work.

The usb ports are integrated into the motherboard, so
I can remove any card and reseat it in a PCI slot.

I also recently has the mcblast worm, don't know id this has
anything to do with it.

Is there something I can do to get the USB ports working
again?

yes #1, remove the pci(?) wintv card with the uninstall program and remove all registry remarks to the wintv card #2, reinstall your original motherboard drivers and also the usb patch from acer!.#3reinstall your wintv card useing the updated driver from hauppauge (v5.2 i think?) also be carfull not to have any usb device conected from q#1 mouse!kboaurd!printer and so on if you still have the same problem set the usb irq manualy it might work. DONT forget to set you bios setting for the usb as this could have been turned of when reinsalling you o/s LOOK AT THIS ITEM FIRST,please post back if ok or need more info.
