I have downloaded a driver for this a cd burner which i am trying to install, but when i click on any of the files that are in the unzipped folder, it says "Error starting program" "the file [TTPNTTRY.EXE] is linked to missing export KERNEL32.DLL:GetVolumeNameForVolumeMountPointA."

so i searched for the file on the hard drive and i found it, but it wouldn't let me drag it into the unzipped folder because it says the file is currently in use. so i copied it and pasted it into the unzipped folder, hoping that when i tried again (clicking on the exe files in the same folder) it would recognize that the dll file is right there, but that didn't work. i've tried installing this driver via "adding new hardware" and manually searching for the driver "inf" files but it won't recognize them as the necesarry valid files.

any advice?

Why do you need to install a driver for a CD burner in windows?
Go unto control panel, system, hardware, device manager and delete the cd from the system and reboot. windows has the Atapi drivers for the cd.
When the system restarts, it will see the new device and install the If it doesnt then your system files are corrupt!
The TTPNTTRY.EXE is definetly not a system file!
I would uninstall all the garbage that you dowloaded and executed and uninstall the cd burner indevice manager and restart your system and let windows install the ATAPI driver, the KERNEL32.DLL may be corrupt, this is a major dynamic link library file.
