Are you trying to switch your PC on using the spacebar or do you have a password problem?

In the first case you have to enable Keyboard Power-on in the BIOS - and possibly also on the motherboard because there might be a DIP switch for it. You must also use the right kind of keyboard, namely one with a little PC symbol on the spacebar. Older ones wont work.

If you've lost your power-on password then look for a DIP switch on the motherboard that clears BIOS passwords. Flip it over and restart. Once you've got your passwords sorted out you can flip it back if you like. If you don't have one then find a DIP switch that clears the whole BIOS and loads default settings. This is a bit drastic because you'll have to set it all up again but what have you got to lose?

Even with spacebar power-on enabled there are times when it doesn't work. This can typically happen after an abnormal power-off.

first find and set your jumper, then to turn on the system by using the keyboard, you must enter BIOS Setup to set the “Keyboard Power ON” and
the “Stroke Keys Selected” options, in the {*Advanced} Chipset Setup.

*the word "ADVANCED" is in AMD MANUALS, im not sure about other manuals
