Both these files are included with every copy of Windows 98SE. When these files are needed during installation, all that's required is the Windows 98SE installation disk to be inserted into your cd-rom drive or if the installation cab files are written to your hard drive (usually in C:\Windows\Options\Cabs) just point to that folder when files are being requested.
You may also manually extract openhci.sys file using the following method:
1: Insert Windows 98SE installation disk in cd rom drive.
2: Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the drive containing the installation disk (usually d:\) (your drive letter may/can be different)
3: Locate the folder Win98 and click it.
4: Find cab file: BASE5.CAB and right click it, left click VIEW.
5: Find file OPENHCI.SYS, right click it, left click EXTRACT.
6: Choose destination folder. click OK.
You may also manually extract ntkern.vxd file using the following method:
1: Insert Windows 98SE installation disk in cd rom drive.
2: Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the drive containing the installation disk (usually d:\) (your drive letter may/can be different)
3: Locate the folder Win98 and left click it.
4: Find cab file: WIN98_54.CAB and right click it, left click VIEW.
5: Find file NTKERN.VXD, right click it, left click EXTRACT.
6: Choose destination folder. click OK.
Reboot computer!
