Well said damien... surely this member now is a bit more intelligent than his post suggests. :nono: Unregistered 05-13-2004, 08:15 AM this is due mostly because twits like you are incapable of posting any . for such a best OS in Existance, it seems that mac users like you are not givers of drivers only whiners. for all those other mac users who are not as brain dead/lazy as this poster. i also suspect that mac drivers are not posted here because there are not that many mac users compared to Pc users, and OS-X is a new os to boot. both of these contribute to the lack of drivers. along with people needing to post them in the first place. Maybe we're not here because nobody wants to meet with arrogant ******** like you. Macista 05-19-2004, 10:43 PM I am surprised that the moderator endorsed Damien's unpleasant comments: we should all be helping each other to get the best out of our computers, but I do note that Damien frequently appears in other fora saying the same sort of thing. (Moderator, please note.) One reason why there are so few Mac drivers in the DriverGuide may be that Mac owners do not have to spend so much time looking high and low for drivers, but the fact is that every step change in Operating Systems (Apple, Windows or whatever) leaves a trail of peripherals unsupported by manufacturers. OSX was no exception, and no doubt Longhorn will prove to be the same. That is why DriverGuide is so valuable. Final note: the Medion MD 41217 A4 graphics tablet is not supported for Mac OSX by Medion, but it is supported by the Aiptek driver HyperPen v1.52.(It is the same tablet, rebadged) I offered this gem to DriverGuide but it didn't get included. OK, Damien? Orpheous 06-23-2005, 02:15 AM I can simpathize...The question stems from the fact that some of the hardware listed on this site is supposed to be compatible with OSX. The orginal poster was rude though to dis the site in a huff. Why don't you use the forum effectively and actually post what your are looking for instead of insulting those that run the site. Aside from that, it is not the site's fault if the hardware manufacturer stops updating the Mac driver... On another note: I suppose one not very welcomed, but perfectly plausable work around is to download the PC driver, and only use that peripheral under Virtual PC. Not ideal, but for, say, a TV Tuner PCI card, doesn't present to much of a problem. Also, Look around http://www.sourceforge.net and http://www.macforge.net - There are some great people on there creating drivers for devices that were never intended to work on the mac in the first place. (That's how I got my xBox Controller working on my Mac. ;)) jeromee 11-18-2007, 07:17 PM Well and I bought the Aiptek MPVR at a discount - nice - and cannot find a driver for my apple. Quicktime does not work with the file type due to a lack of upgrade but... VLC works yet again... I know I can playback video in its corresponding format when so far all else has failed. This is only the beginning! I'll be in touch... there's a link below... http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/14738 P.S. I'm looking to try ffmpeg to alter formats in any event as I see fit. It can be found at www.sourceforge.net |
