Ok i need some ones help. I did the full install of XP Pro. The first problem i had was no mouse, it didn't seem to know it was there. I didn't get any error messages associated with this. Then I lost my Floppy drives. Now all it does is boot up to the CMOS settings ant ask me to "press any key to reboot" I don't get the chance to do safe mode or even get to the screen. I tried to reinstall "Boot from cd" and i get a "out of memory error setup cannot continue" This isn't a life or death thing i am just trying to get a old computer i had laying around working for my kids to learn on. any help would be appreciated.
Oh here is what i have:
Amd K6
64 megs of Ram
3.4 GB harddrive
No soundcard-Yet
No Modem
No networkcard
This computer has never been hooked to the internet, I hadn't got that far yet.
Can't think of anything else

Sir,
I think you are loading an old horse with too much freight. I would suggest that you return to WIN98 for that old nag. The equipment you have does not meet the minimum XP requiremdnts.
PC with 300 megahertz (MHz) or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233-MHz minimum required;* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended
128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)
1.5 gigabyte (GB) of available hard disk space.*
Super VGA (800 × 600) or higher resolution video adapter and monitor
CD-ROM or DVD drive
Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
The above requirements are very minimum.

YOU WILL NEED TO CHECK THAT RAM AND MAY NEED MORE>>> at least 100...

Ray you need to go to the microsoft website and download a reboot disk for xp. if you can't find it which you will then e-mail me at noexecuses@aol.com and I will send you one. To use just turn off your computer put in the disk with the compute turned off. Then turn it on and it should take you back to the first set up screen.

Ray,
Windows XP (home edition and pro edition) are not something you will find floating around on the internet. Both are copyrighted software owned by Microsoft. They own the rights to it, they sell it, along with numerous vendors and software retail outlets. If you are the registered owner of Windows XP call Microsoft or your pc vendor and give them your registration information along with your pc serial number. They will provide you with needed information to replace your copy of Windows XP or provide you with instructions on how to reinstall from a restore cd or from a copy on your pc hard drive.
Since you gave no information concerning why you don't have the installation cd, or any information concerning your pc brand or model #, I cannot provide any further information. :)
