I have an HP Pavilion 7845 with 384Meg RAM and 80Gig HD.

I want to create a small (<640Meg) Partition and install DOS6.22 and Win 3.1.1

I know that the partition needs to be the first one and I also suspect I need to use a RAMDisk for some of the RAM as DOS6.22 has probs over 64?? Meg

What should I watch out for as far as drivers are concerned?

The PC is an 833MHz PIII and uses and Intell chipset for sound, graphics etc

Thanks for any assistance!

Huh ? Talking about programs older than DOS 3 or ... ?

By the way, are you talking about disk space or RAM ?
If i remember well, this old HiMem.sys can't manage more than these 64 MB ram, maybe even less (am not too sure :hmm: ) ... and i don't know many DOS based programs using more than like 2 MB memory.

For what is about disk space, FAT 16 and MS-DOS 6 can handle up to 2 GB I think... but you may try FreeDOS (http://freedos.org) if you wish :)

Sorry I don't know much about the drivers, I just doubt that you will find Win3x compatible drivers for your video card :/ ... though you may try the standard ones provided with Windows 3 floppies to get a better resolution than 640x480x16 colors... be prepared to restore your previous System.ini file though, for it often doesn't work very well.
