I formatted my disk and installed Win 98. Windows detected the modem as "unknown device". I had no manufacturer's disk for Lucent modem but I did find drivers and have them on a floppy disk. I attempted to install the modem manually but the computer will not accept the A:\ files and the correct driver cannot be found in the Win 98 directory. How do I install manually and use the .inf files to do it? The computer is a Compaq Pesario. Thanks.
