After a driver update obtained from windows update I'm no longer able to boot windows xp with the mouse receiver plugged in(it boots but take more then 5min).
Someone have an idea of what could I do?

I have already tried to update to some other drivers included the ones at genius website.
Rolling back the driver doesn't work.
It works fine on windows vista and windows 7

mouse model: Genius Traveler 600

windows xp sp3

some more info:

When the receiver isn't plugged in windows boots normal.
when the receiver is plugged windows boots until the point when the welcome screen should show up then the screen turns black and stay so for like 5min(no hd's activity at all) and then the welcome screen finally apears.
If I plug out the receiver while the the windows is showing that black screen it just boots instantaneously.

PS. that's on windows xp sp3 and was working fine until windows update decided to update the old driver.

It should be simple to just restore the system to an earlier date than when the problem occurred. ie: Start, Run, type "msconfig", click the "Launch System Restore" button, choose "restore my computer to an earlier date", then choose from the list an earlier date than when the problem occurred.

Well, i'm having this problem for quite a while.
I have already restored the system from 1~2 days old backup but what would be the consequences of restoring the system from like 3 mouths ago?

Restoring from 3 months ago will put the hard drive back like it was 3 months ago.
