I have photos I saved on a LS-120 drive years ago. I bought a Matsushita LS-120. I installed in my machaine running Windows 64bit Ultimate. It did recognice the dive however it will only work with standard floppy. The LS-120 floppy when it reads it says need to format to use. I can not format and loose my photos on the LS-floppy. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Your pc BIOS must have LS-120 support in order for it to work. Have you entered BIOS setup and changed it from 1.44 MB. to LS-120? If not, you must do so. If your BIOS doesn't support LS-120 then you must update the bios with a version offering LS-120 support. If your pc only has 720 and 1.44 mb. and no LS-120 listing, then the drive can only read/write to 1.44 mb. floppy disks.

Thanks Jerry K.-I have entered the BIOS and under Floppy the only options were the 720 and 1.44 no LS-120. I have also updated to latest BIOS on my Asus P5K3E-Prem. I guess I am out of luck. I may have to pull the floppy and install in an older computer to get the photos off the LS-120.
Thanks for your help again.

You have one other choice. Search on the net for custom bios makers. Contact one of your choice and ask them if they have a bios update or can they write one that offers LS-120 support for this particular laptop. The last time I made a purchase it was $80.00 and that was about 5 years ago. And again they could be cheaper now than 5 years ago. If you go this route, please post back with the results.
I have a Dell Dimension 9100 desktop and it came from Dell with support for LS-120 drives. Sorry I could not provide a fix for you.
