I reformatted an HP Pavilion 6470z. I reinstalled Windows 98SE using an original operating system CD (I don't have the recovery CD supplied with the computer). The computer works great but, every time I startup I get a message saying "vnetbios.vxd" is missing... press any key to continue... After I press any key,the computer starts up normally
and I can do anything I need to do. Of course, I don't have the modem/sound card drivers. Does anyone have the Recovery CD for the HP Pavilion 6470z?

I resolved the above by Reinstalling Windows 98SE (without reformatting the hard drive "C:/") this 'second' time.
In the process, Windows tells you you don't need to install Windows (since the Window operating system is present on my computer). I reinstalled anyway, and this solved the "vnetbios.vxd" is missing..." message at startup.

Thanks Edwin! I just reformatted my hard drive last night and received the same message after reinstalling Windows 98SE. I'll reinstall Windows again when I get home this evening.
