okay i've been without sound for 2 months or so, looked for drivers, found NONE that'd work, had this problem once before about a year ago, found one all worked, got no idea where to start now lol. and please, dont ask for the info on "The little sticker somewhere on your computer" as i have already looked, it ISNT THERE!. tell me how to look for something in system info or something i'll tell you anything you want.
far as i remember: Soundmax integrated digital audio.
according to Device Manager: Intel(R) Pentium(R)4 cpu 3.00ghz
tell me where to look for info, its yours.
and for anyone who wants to know, this isnt from dell or asus or any companys like that, i baught it from some asian mob in melbourne a few years back, at the time, it was prob the best pc i coulda got my hands on for any less then 2 grand. (so, its old, and it will be difficult to give brand info)
Thx, steve.

Thread moved to the Driver Request Forum. Please don't post driver requests in our Tech Support Forum.
You will need to identify the motherboard before we can help. And include the bios id string found in the lower left corner of the monitor screen during bootup. You can use the Pause key to stop the screen scrolling long enough to write it down. You also need to state what OS you're running. Another problem stemmed from not using the correct forum for posting requests.

If you're unable to identify the mb, then use this software:
To find make and model of pc hardware, EVEREST Home Edition is a free system diagnostics, system information program that will id most hardware onboard a mb. as well as the actual motherboard.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/Everest-Home-Edition.shtml
Alternate Everest download link: (offers 2 sites to dl program from)
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/EVEREST-Home-Edition-Download-16369.html
Run the program and then:
Click on Computer
Click on Summary
Right hand window (hardware) if the text is BLUE this is a link to the web site for that particular hardware.
If you have additional questions or need further help, please post a SUMMARY report from Everest.

Is this motherboard a retail motherboard or OEM? If OEM, provide the pc brand and model that it came installed in.

oem? hm? not quite sure what that means. sorry im cars/motorbikes, not so great with pcs. but i can tell you i baught it from some asians in dandenong, like it was good as, but its not a name brand pc, its just a heap of parts fitted togethere i suppose :P so it has no sticker on the side or anything, and the only thing i've changed in it is added 1gb of ram, and spent like $200 on fans cause the ***** kept overheating.
