Optical reader drives never require a driver since it gets it's support natively and automatically from the operating system. An optical drive is 100% plug and play in Windows XP. The system will install this drive immediately during bootup. It offers no "hardware found" message and you won't know the drive has been installed until you look in "My Computer" or "Device Manager", or "Windows Explorer" and see it listed there. Is it?

Please state what the problem is, ie: non-detection, other?
