I have just installed a 12 GB HD in the TP770, but it is not being recognised. Do I need an updated BIOS driver to cure this ? Can anyone send me the cure ?

Take a look in BIOS setup and see how the hd is setup. mine is set to AUTO.

And to verify your hd size is 12 GB? What size was in the machine prior to updating?

Hard drives don't require a driver... all support for a hard drive comes from the system BIOS and the IDE Controller.
