HP has no direct support for machines which have had the original OS taken off and a non-supported OS installed. And Intel 82801 is not a sound chipset. Sound chips bear names like Realtek, Conexant, Cmedia, ADI SoundMax, Via, and Sigmatel. The c768br has a Conexant sound chip.

Try installing this UAA driver from the HP website. (h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&softwareitem=pv-22533-1&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN) Then the system should obtain the audio driver automatically either from your hard drive or from Microsoft update (or from the audio driver from links in my previous post.)
